At 55, I'd just completed my first triathlon. My training community had disbanded, I still had a lot to learn, and I wanted to keep going. Naturally, I wanted a coach who knew the sport. But most importantly? Turns out I needed someone who could handle ME as I squirmed and wriggled in the vulnerability of learning. Whether it's the frustration of becoming more efficient in the water, or facing the transition to clipless pedals, or dealing with an older body that's sometimes cranky about long runs, Liv is there, steady as a rock, letting me bump up against him and offering calm guidance until I take a deep breath and get back at it. He's kind and strong and clear. He listens, collaborates, and reminds me to have fun. We're only getting started, and with Liv in my corner, I have zero doubts I can cross any finish line I set my sights on...remembering to enjoy the journey as I go!

Since I started working with Livingston, the gains across my swim, bike, and run, I have made are astronomical. I went from consistently having one of the slowest run splits in my Age Group to consistently having a top three run split and multiple podiums! I've gained a ton of confidence in open water swimming, and have seen a 30% increase in my FTP on the bike in only 3 months. One thing I’ve learned in triathlon is that swimming can fall off quickly if you don’t stay consistent and intentional with it. Working with Livingston has been one of the biggest reasons that hasn’t happened for me. Livingston has helped keep me progressing in the water instead of just maintaining. From technique adjustments, to accountability, to building confidence on the harder days, I’m grateful to have someone with his expertise be present on deck.

I came to Liv as a total swim beginner and honestly had no idea what I was doing in the water. He was so patient, kind, and genuinely fun to work with. Never once made me feel like I was behind or struggling, just kept encouraging me and breaking everything down in a way that actually made sense. The swim plans he put together were awesome too, really well structured to build both endurance and actual technique at the same time. You can tell he genuinely cares about his athletes and really wants to help you succeed. If you are just starting out or trying to figure out this whole triathlon thing, Liv is the best person to have in your corner. 10/10, could not recommend him more!

Coach Liv has been a tremendous blessing to me in my triathlon journey. I came from a running background, and had little to no knowledge about biking or swimming, and within my first 3 months of training I was able to complete an Olympic distance triathlon. His positive attitude as well as his constructive criticism hasn't only improved my swimming, biking, and running, but has made me confident in each of the events. There hasn't been a time where I have needed advice, feedback, or an adjustment to my training plan where he hasn't acted quickly to meet my needs. I can honestly say I wouldn't be progressing in this sport as fast as I am if I were just doing a generic online training plan. If you are considering joining Liv's team... DO IT!!!
